Full circle

Twenty-seven years ago, at the age of 17, I attended a youth camp in the Sandia mountains. It was then and there that I finally surrendered to God's call to the ministry. That call has been repeatedly affirmed and I've had the joy of seeing God bring fruit out of the ministry He has given me. It has also sustained me and held me to the task through many dark nights. I truly thought I would be in ministry until I retired. I thought this until God reminded me of the higher calling He has placed on me, that of a husband and father. I recently came to the place where answering both calls was no longer possible so I'm now walking away from vocational ministry. I've not renounced that call. But for the foreseeable future, that responsibility will be set aside while I focus on my family.

This has been and continues to be a very difficult season. Even so, I know God has directed us, walks with us and has an exciting new stage of our journey waiting for us.
